AboutUASD
University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad (UASD) was established on October 1, 1986 to cater to the needs of farming community of northern Karnataka. The University has tri-fold functions of Teaching, Research and Extension in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. In its 30 years of dedicated service the University has earned the reputation of being a Farmers University. The University has 5 Colleges, 27 Research Stations, 6 Agriculture Extension Education Centers, 6 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and ATIC. The University has its jurisdiction over 7 districts. UAS Dharwad has received many national and international awards. Four day Krishi Mela of UASD attracts over 15 lakh farmers and entrepreneurs.
AboutRKVY
RKVY – Innovation & Agri-entrepreneurship Programme of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare (MoA&FW), Gov. of India initiated in 2018-19 at UAS Dharwad as Knowledge Partner and Center of Excellence (CoE) with partner RKVY Agri-Business Incubators s namely CIRCOT, Mumbai, NaaVic, Bengaluru, PDKV, Akola and AAU, Anand. It aims to promote Agri – entrepreneurship and Agribusiness providing financial and technical support to agri startups.
KRISHIK-ABI UAS Dharwad has completed 9 cohorts that includes 52 pre-seed stage 47 seed stage startups with a total sanction amount of Rs. 1085.67 lakhs. Among them, 32 have successfully graduated. It has trained over 300 incubates through various programs and provide financial support to over hundred startups. These start-ups have collectively generated Rs. 4230.45 lakhs in revenue and created 632 employment opportunities, including 20 women-led enterprises.
